Hello Bobby J:
I've got some information on some of the Glissons in some of the counties you listed.John Daniel Glisson (B:8-12-1844 in Martin County; died 8-31-1920 in Laurinburg NC, Scotland Co.) was my Great Grandfather who was married to either Susan and/or Ann Glisson.I think he was married twice! It is his father, Sam Glisson, (born 1817, Location-?, died - ?)that I'm trying to find.He was married to Eliza (Elizabeth -?) Barnhill. I lost him and can't seem to find him.I think he might have gone to Georgia, but don't know for sure.
Any help you can give will be appreciated. Thanks Cousin.
The only information I can put my hands on as to a Benjamin Glisson is from the 1880 census of Pender County. He was listed with a David, age 34; Emly, age 29; Benjamin, age 8; Daniel, age 6; Lilly, age 3; and Robert, age 1.
I've been out of the genealogy loop for some time and need to get back into it.Hope this helps. If you have anything on Sam and Eliza Glisson my long lost G-G-Grandpappy, I would appreciate finding out where he went, his kids, wives (if more than one), etc., etc!
