I have recently found information on Capitola Jones who married Richard Glisan. She was a half sister to my great grandmother Clara Jones. Her father was James Jones and her mother was Christianna Minnerly. James died at her home in 1902 from the notice in the paper sent to me from the Lewis County Historical Society. James Jones was a son of Abel Jones and Martha Underwood. He married Mary Hetzler nee Sammons after Christiana died. I believe they divorced shortly after Clara was born. She was their only child and James signed the consent for her marriage to Frederick G Drescher in Adams County Illinois.
Christiana Minnerly was born in New York to William and Martha nee Jones. She is listed on the 1850 Census for Gilmor Adams County Illinois. In 1860 James and Chritiana are listed in Gilmor Adams County Illinois with daughter Martha. Capitola is listed with family of William Slabler on line 949. James is line 955 and is indexed as James Toms. I do not know why she was with this family! I appreciate the information on their marriage date and on son Calvin. I did not know who the first two children were and in 1910 Capitola had nine children all living. Now it looks like I am only missing one of the children.
I have found most of the census records and will be happy to share information with you.
