To anyone searching for info on Isabella Gliddon (wife of Edward Tinney) (taken from newspaper clipping) The death of Edward Tinney, native of Cobourg (Ontario, Canada) and resident of the town for practically his entire life, occurred at his home, 286 Henry Street, Thursday evening, July 30, after an illness of about a year. The deceased was in his 86th year. Born in Cobourg (Ontario, Canada) on John Street, on May 8, 1857, Mr. Tinney was a son of the late John Tinney and Rebecca (Delaney). On December 16, 1876, he was united in marriage to Isabella (Gliddon) in a ceremony performed at Port Hope by Rev. John Shaw. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1936. The decease was a gerat reader throughout his life. He was a member of St. Peter's Anglican Church. A carpenter by trade, he worked for the Crossen Car Co., Cobourg, for 38 years and built the first and last passenger cars constructed by the Company. He also worked for some years with the Canada Atlantic Railway in Ottawa. He is survived by his widow and five children - 1. Clive of Toronto 2. Mrs. F.M. Hutton of Cobourg 3. Mrs. H.C. Tyner of Eastend, Sask. 4. Eric G. of Campbellford 5. J.H. of Trenton There are 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The funeral was held Saturday from his residence of more than 60 years, 286 Henry Street. Service at the house at 4 p.m. was conducted by Rev. T.A. Nind of Grafton. Interment was in St. Peter's Cemetery, Cobourg. Palbearers were three sons and three grandsons, namely - 1. Clive Tinney of Toronto 2. Jack Tinney of Trenton 3. Eric Tinney of Campbellford (those 3 were sons) 4. Jack Hutton of Cobourg 5. Jack Tinney Jr. of Toronto 6. Eric Tinney Jr. of Toronto (those 3 were grandsons Mr. and Mrs. Clive Tinney Sr., of Toronto; Mr. and Mrs. Eric Tinney Sr. of Campbellford; J.H. Tinney of Trenton; Mrs. Edward Herbert of Toronto; Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Sanderson; Mr. and Mrs. Eric Tinney Jr. of Toronto; Mrs. Kenneth White of Toronto; Jack Tinney Jr. of Toronto; Mr. and Mrs. H. Coyle of Chatham were among those in Cobourg on Saturday attending the funeral of the late Edward Tinney (note....no year of death was given)
