Hi Adrian,
My sister in law is related to the Glews and it seems as though some of your posting info compares favorably with hers. I cannot quite follow the links that you and Gaynor have been discussing and wondered whether you could enlighten me about the Glew history prior to Nevil Glew and Elizabeth Plumtree?
I have Nevil and Elizabeth as having 3 siblings - William (c1759 in Keadby), John (b.31.3.1762 in Keadby) and Robert Glew (b12.4.1767 in Isle of Axholme).
My sister in laws family tree comes from the Robert Glew Line whose son William (b. 26.2.1795 d.4.6.1855 in Sheffield) married Thomasin Isle (b. 1794 in Crowle) and are buried in the General Cemetry in Sheffield which we visited only yesterday.
It appears that you may have information regarding Nevil Glews son John.
I have Nevil Glew as being the son of Samuel Glew (b.12.9.1705 d.1.6.1766 in Luddington) who married Sarah Nevil (b1705 in Luddington) and they had 2 other sons Samuel (b 1731 in Althorpe) and William (b. 1736 in Althorpe).
I believe that the father Samuel Glew was one of the sons of Jeffrey Glew (b. 12.9.1673 in Belton) who married Hannah ? I also believe Jeffrey was one of the 4 siblings of Christopher Glew (b. 1640 in Luddington d. 1697) who married Anne ?
Is there any chance of you being able to confirm or deny any of this information and/or be able to give me the Glew history of any of the other of Nevil Glews siblings. For your information my e-mail address is [email protected]. Please feel free to contact me at this address and we could exchange any other information that I possess.
Best Regards,
John
