While perusing some notes by Professor Thomas, East TN historian, I came across an item regarding a Col Robert Glenn who evidently owned a large plantation somewhere below Sweat's Bend near the Powell River. This site was formerly a large Virginia settlement started ca 1781 that was broken up by Indians. Thomas later goes on to state that this same land was acquired by my ancestor, Elijah Longmire - probably about 1805 or so. Does anyone here have any info regarding Col Glenn and who his ancestors were?
