Like John RG Bland (see his message "George Glenday of Sleaford, Lincs"), I descend from George Glenday, miller of Seaford, born 1771/72. I now think he may possibly be the George Glenday baptised at Glamis 25 July 1771 (though we have no proof, just that this is the only George we have found whose bapt date fits with the stated age at death of our George). We are searching for any clues about what happened to the George of Glamis - or any connections with millers or Lincolnshire.
I have all the Glenday bapts at Glamis in 1760-1818 and also Glamis monumental inscriptions. Any help, Maureen? Or do you have these already? I have 5 children baptised to John Glenday of Arniefoul, Glamis, between 1802 and 1816, but oddly no sign of Lilias (though a gap between 1805 and 1809 - maybe I missed her ?); how do you know her date? She is however commemorated on a tombstone (more details if you want). John Glenday would seem to have been baptised at Glamis in 1776, the son of another John and brother of the George above. Let me know if I can be of more help.
