Hi Joy,
Yes I believe all the Glendenings originated from Scotland, with lots in Durham and Northumberland (and an Irish branch too). One of them, Adam,ended up in Devon in the early 1700's and was noted on his marriage entry as "Adham, a Scotsman". My branch originated from him and in the 19th century were in the Bristol area.
