The Robert Glen in this death notice is not closely related to the historical Glens of the Schnectady area (though probably related via Scotland, ultimately!). He was the son of Archibald Glen, who immigrated to the US in the 1930's. Archibald Glen was born in Dublin in 1888, though Robert himself was born in Scotland.
Archie's dad was Robert Glen, a blacksmith, born 1854 in Stirling, Scotland who settled in Dublin, Ireland, and died in 1917. This Robert Glen's dad was also Archibald Glen, also from Stirling, and he was a Coach-Body maker.
The older Robert Glen who settled in Dublin had two wives and eight children, of whom Archie was the eldest. A census record from 1911 is a little inaccurate, but interesting anyway: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Dublin/Pembroke_West/Somerset_St_/10435/
The second youngest of his children, William, became a famous soccer player in Ireland in the 1920's & 1930's - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Glen_%28footballer%29
I am a son of the youngest of his children, mistakenly called 'Doyle Harold' in the census transcription, but Douglas David in actuality.
