Hi Michael
My ancestor Martha Gledhill was the first child of George Gledhill and Betty (believed to be nee Butterworth) who were married 20 November 1804 in Halifax. They had four children there: Martha, bapt 6 Oct 1805; William, bapt 6 Sep 1807; John, bapt 31 Dec 1809; Elizabeth, bapt 2 Aug 1812. The IGI source batch number for this family is 007494.

There is also an IGI entry for a Susannah Gledhill, bapt 23 Oct 1846 of parents George and Eliza Gledhill of Halifax. Susannah married Anthony Berry in 1870 at Ripponden. Anthony was born Sep quarter 1847 and died Sep quarter 1892, both events in Settle, Yorkshire.
In the 1841 Halifax census, George is born c1825. No wife is mentioned. In 1851 and 1861 he has spouse Eliza, born c1822.

I do not know how Susannah is related, if at all, but the source batch number of her birth, and that of the marriages of Martha's above siblings is the same - 007492 - only two digits different from that of their parents George and Betty. IGI says --

William 1807 md Susey Sutcliffe 25 Oct 1827 at Halifax.
John 1809 md Caroline Hanson 9 Jul 1834 at Halifax.
Elizabeth 1812 md Joseph Wadsworth 7 Dec 1834 at Halifax.

I know that my ancestor Martha Gledhill married Charles Crossley (bapt 29 July 1804 in Halifax) on 3 Mar 1823 in Halifax.
According to the 1871 Halifax census, Martha's brother William was visiting or staying with her and her husband, Charles. William was then 64, unmarried, and his occupation was 'superannuated minister'. This is the only information of Martha's siblings I can rely on.
Possible death entries on FreeBMD for William are Sep qtr 1876 vol 9a p301 Halifax aged 69 or Dec qtr 1880 Bradford vol 9b p28 aged 73.

Speculating, it could be that Martha's mother Elizabeth died in childbirth with Martha's sister Elizabeth in 1812 and her father George married again, possibly to your Susannah Dyson. Elland and Rastrick are in Halifax. Does this sound feasible to you?
Regards
