I am trying to locate information relating to my mother's side of the family. Her father, Albert Gledhill who came to the US in the early 1920's from Leeds. My mother was Florence Gledhill Waters born 9/21/1917 I believe in Leeds England. My mother died in 1984 and I do not have any records from her living in England. I believe she came to the US with my grandfather on his second voyage when he brought my mother, her sister Hilda and his wife, Laura. I believe I have located his entrance through Ellis Island, but have not located my mother or grandmothers' entry. Not sure if they entered through NY or Boston, Massachusetts. I believe they arrived around 1925. He worked for The Bradford Dying Association. I do know two of my grandmother's sisters were Elizabeth and Irene. I believe my grandfather had a brother, but do not know his name or if there were other siblings.
If anyone has any knowledge of my family lineage, I would be most appreciative. I am sad to say that my sisters and I did not obtain more information from my mother before she passed away. She did not have any records that I saw as a child nor did she discuss her life prior to marrying my father, Hugo Waters, in Westerly, RI, USA aside from showing me the home she grew up in Bradford, RI, USA provided by the Bradford Dying Association.
