Anyone who looks into this posting is going to think that I am completely crazy (especially my cousin, if she knows about Genform; it is she who learned of Levi in the first place, and who helped me straighten some of this out last summer - sorry about the confusion I have created!) but this is a correction to my own correction of earlier today. I promise not to correct anything else today, at least!
What I had planned to post earlier this morning was simply a list of some grandchildren of Levi Gleason and Lucinda (Howard) Gleason, who are also, of course, the children of James Jasper Gleason (my great grandfather). That list is as follows:
James Burton; Milo Douglas, Sr. (my grandfather); Elwin E.; Israel L.; John H.; and Frank L.
Instead of posting that simple list, though, what happened was that when I was posting my item earlier today, I got distracted and blended in some information on another branch of the family I am reasearching.
So, for anyone interested, who might want to help out a poor, confused Gleason, my posting of earlier this morning is incorrect, but the original posting of March 25 is OK.
James Jasper Gleason (1842-1911) and his wife Catherine (Smith) Gleason had the six sons listed above. My cousin who was so helpful in identifying James Jasper Gleason's father as one Levi Gleason (wife Lucinda Howard) will, I hope forgive the confusion I have created. She is a great grand daughter of James Jasper Gleason's endest son, James Burton Gleason. Again, this James Burton was the ELDEST SON of James Jasper, NOT his brother, as I stupidly indicated. (So much for trying to do two or three postings at the same time!).
I myself am the grandson of James Jasper Gleason's second son, Milo Douglas Sr.
In spite of the confusion, I hope to hear from anyone having information about this group of Gleasons.
Thanks to all readers.
