In Reply to: MARY ELIZABETH GLEASON BORN 1845 IOWA by Gayle Ryans of 2187

My name is Rick Gleason and I've lived in Iowa all my life. I stumbled on this message and when I saw the name Mary Elizabeth Gleason it caught my attention. That was my grandmothers name. I never met her. She died sometime around 1955 when my father was approxamatley 15 years old but I'm not sure of the exact date. I know she is burried at a cemetary in Weller, Iowa. Her husband, my grandfather Michael Joseph Gleason, is also burried there. He was born approxamatly 1889 and died in 1986. He had two brothers, Thomas and Patrick and at least one sister. She died when I was very young.

I realize my information is very scetchey but I've never spent much time researching my past. Recently I've found the internet and have also began to wonder about my roots. I haven't the slighetest idea where to begin researching such matters.

I still live in the area and if there is any way I can assist you please let me know. I'd be happy ot share any information with you.
