I am quite sure Samuel Gleason, b.1804, Vermont, is my great-great-great grandfather. My great-great grandfather is Jacob Gleason, b. 1842, New York. His mother was Samuel's second wife. I have just finished reading Jacob's autobiography, pub.d 1929 (W. Los Angeles, CA) which contains quite a lot of information, including his brother's death in the Civil War, but though he wrote quite a bit about his father, he never mentioned his name, so I could not search farther back. A friend found your posting re: Samuel. Have you found anything more about Samuel, or about who might be Samuel's father? I am new to this forum/website; please let me know if I've posted this correctly. (I have a mac; had trouble registering).
