Yes the Barber book is good to a point but, as with all books of that era, it cuts off serveral generations prior to him in the 1800's for some branchs of the descendents. So they are left hanging for nearly five or six generations since then. Many of the authors of that era expected their work to be accepted without revealing their sources. This creates a problem of trying to pick up in research where they left off.Did they have valid sources or were they using supposition and hearsay? If any of them were writing today they would be discredited by their fellow researchers demanding revelation of the sources they used.
The evolution of names is maddening some times.
