There are still a lot of GLEASON living around the Open Meadows area of
Chautauqua Co
we have very little info on them;

Albert GLEASON born 8 JAN 1798 and EMELINE 22 FEB 1806 are the
children of RUFUS ca 1769 d 4/7/1810 son of ARIEL b 1743 and Miriam GRANGER
b 27 MAY 1776 Gleason;
other children of RUFUS and MIRIAM are

RUFUS Jr b 29 APR 1808 wife Melissa SHERMAN
they are in Chautauqua Co town of Chautauqua also in 1850 census Rufus is 43
a wagon maker, b CT
Malissa 42 b Ny
Albert 19, Charles 17, Sherman 13, Adelaide 9, Ellen, 5, Frances female 2
these are buried in MAYVILLE Cemetery

Gleason, Melissa b. d. 13 May 1872 age 65 wife of Rufus

Henry 14, still in Fathers house 1860 ae 23 married to MATILDA 21, dau Mary 2, Edward 6 months and also here 1860 SACKET, Enos, 61
Edwin 8 still in fathers house 1860 age 18
Lucretia Henry and Edwin are in Wild

In 1880 in Harmony is Edwin \age 39 single, a
printer Mother LUCRETIA 77 niece MARY 22 a school teacher
Edwin served in the Civil War
