Thomas Gleason (born 1847) Tipperary

Thomas GLEASON was baptized 20 Dec 1847 in Frolic, Tipperary, IRL. He is the son of James GLEASON & Judith HOGAN. He came to the US in 1858 with his Uncle Denis to join his parents and siblings. In 1860 the family lives in Riley Twp., St. Clair Co., MI.

On 7 Dec 1863 he enlists in Company K, 10th Infantry, Michigan and goes to McMinnville, TN to join his regiment. He is discharged 19 Jun 1865 at Louisville, KY. He returns to Michigan but remains there only briefly.

According to family stories, he "goes out west to seek his fortune". A pension was never filed for. No one recalls having heard from him again.

In searching the 1870 Census, I find no good leads. He is not with/near his siblings or anywhere in MI (at least according to several indexes I have consulted).

Does anyone have this fellow in their Family History?
