Alwyn Gleason, aged 71 yrs Expires
Ill short time at home on Sylvia Lake Rd. Native of Pitcairn, NY had been ill only about two weeks when the end came. Was a resident of Fowler, NY for 46 yrs.
Gouvenreur, NY. Alwyn A. Gleason, 71, a resident of Fowler for the past 46 years, and prominent in its politics for the past 30 years, died yesterday at his home on the Sylvia Lake Rd. His final illness was of only a two week duration. Mr. Gleason was born in Pitcairn, Dec. 26, 1855, the son of Ephraim and Mary Hall Gleason. He removed to Fowler when a young man and engaged in farming. On Nov. 6, 1878, he married Miss Betsey Rice, who survives him. He was justice of the peace and member of the town board of Fowler for the past 30 yr. The survivors besides his widow are two daughters, Mrs. A. P. Fraser and Mrs. Donald Thompson of Fowler, a sister, Mrs. John Watson and a brother, Charles Gleason of Gouverneur.
