Thanks for the info. Lorraine NY is at the east end of Lake Ontario south of Watertown. Asa seems to appear out of nowhere but I have a theory that Asa as a name is a shortened version of Amasa which has plenty of occurances in Massachusetts and NY. There seems to be a steady westward appearance of the name Amasa starting in central Mass. and progressing through Saratoga NY and then to the south shore of Lake Ontario. The names that you list are similar to the ones Debbie gave me. Thanks again.
