I am also trying to connect my Jonathan Gleason/Leeson to his New England family.Family records say that he participated in the American Revolution, but the only Jonathan Gleason I can find in the DAR index married Mary Fiske.I know that his children were:
Seth, b. 1792, Black River Country near Albany, NY.My mother said the family lived just inside the New York border near Niagara Falls at the time of the War of 1812.
Olive, b. abt 1794
Jess, b. abt 1796; living in HaldimandTwp, Ontario Canada in 1848.
Oliver, b. 1797; living in Cramahe Twp., Ontario Canada 1850 military service 1828, Northumberland, Ontario Canada, 1st Regiment, 8th Co. Infantry, age 30.
Samuel, b. 1800, age 27 in 1828; served 1st Troop of Cavalry, 1st Regiment, Nothumberland Militia.
Leonard, b. 1805, age 22 in 1828; served in 8th Co. of Infantry, 1st Regiment of Northumberland Militia.
I descend from Seth Gleason.
Is this the same family that you are working on?If it is, I would love to share.
