Me too, looking thru old messages and came upon your reply to my query.

My Cornelius Gleason and his wife Bridget Mullins Gleason ~ their first child was Martin born c. 1836/7!! They too, lived in Carrowkeale, Newport, Co. Tipperary before they left in l839 for Downie Twp in Ontario Canada. In 1865 they left Canada for Speaker Twp., Sanilac County, Michigan where they remained for the rest of their lives.

Interesting eh? We are more than likely connected.

Do you happen to know of Martin's parents names? Also, too, there was a Micheal Gleason living in Oxford County, Canada and also came to Sanilac County, up the road from Cornelius in l871. Cornelius was a witness on a land tranaction for that Micheal Gleason and they were of the same age ~ so we are suspecting they were brothers or not. On Micheal's Death record it stated his father as a Thomas, on Corneilus's well that record seems to be missing ~ go figure eh? But with Cornelius' first born son named Martin ~ I kinda am leaning towards his father being named Martin.

Look forward to communicating. How did you fella get out to Iowa?

Robert and Michelle
