Earl L. Taylor, 64, of Hattiesburg, died September 3, 2011 at Wesley Medical Center. Services will be on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Crosspoint Community Church followed by burial in Richburg Cemetery.
Earl served in the Navy and spent two tours in Vietnam. He retired from Halliburton in 1994 and moved back to Mississippi and opened up Sports 4 All. He most recently was owner and operator of Taylor Truck and Tractor. He had many passions in his life until his first grandchild was born and then his focus changed to the grandchildren. They were the light in his eyes.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Taylor; daughters, Patrice Glasscock and husband Leighton of Sugar Land, Texas, Kristen Murphy of Hattiesburg, MS, and Veronica Bridges and husband Kent of Marietta, GA; his grandchildren, Colby Bridges, Amanda Bridges, Lane Glasscock, Tucker Murphy, Vivian Bridges, Garrett Glasscock, and Ellie Glasscock; father, Harvey B. Taylor; and two brothers, Harvey Dean Taylor and Tommy Ray Taylor. His mother, Ellie Mae Taylor, predeceased him.
Earl's favorite saying was "if it's not one thing, it's another."
Visitation will be Monday, September 5, 2011, from 5 - 7 at Moore Funeral Chapel in Hattiesburg. Donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, http:/www.lls.org/#/waystohelp/donate/.
