Oden Alfred "O.A." Shaw
Oden Alfred "O.A." Shaw, 57, Brownwood, died Saturday night at the Songbird Nursing Home in Brownwood.
Services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Brownwood with Bro. Lynn Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Eastlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born Nov. 17, 1951, in Brady, to the late Monroe Gordon and Mary Lou Ellen Cunningham Shaw. He was married to Mary Lillian Martin at Coleman on Jan. 30, 1976. She preceded him in death on March 10, 2007. He worked with his brother Dale in the paving business and was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Laura Roberson and husband Randall of Early, Melody McCutchen and husband Daniel of Brownwood; grandson, Alex Roberson of Early; granddaughter, Melody McCutchen of Brownwood; brother, Leo Shaw of Early; sisters, Judy Karnes of Brownwood and Minnie Glasscock of Tyler.
He was also preceded in death by sisters, Patsy Karnes and Jean Warren and brothers, Dale Shaw and Monroe E. Shaw.
Memorials are requested to be made to St. Jude's Hospital.
