Willoughby WILLIAMS and Nancy GLASSCO

In March 1848, Nancy MCMINN appeared before the court of Davidson Co., TN to make a declaration in order to obtain pension benefits. Nancy made application as the widow of Willoughby WILLIAMS, and officer in the RW. She stated that her husband, Willoughby WILLIAMS, had entered the service in Dobbs Co., NC. Abram SHEPPARD was his COl, and George WASHINGTON his Gen. She stated that Col. James GLASSCO, the Secretary of the State of NC, was her father and had served with Willoughby WILLIAMS in the RW. She md. WILLIAMS after the war on 1 Jan 1786.
Her husband, Willoughby WILLIAMS, died 6 June 1802 during their move from Greene Co., NC to the State of TN. They had four chldren. Two were J.G. and Willoughby WILLIAMS. Willoughby WILLIAMS and Nancy GLASSCO's 6th child, also a Willoughby WIlliams, b. June 14, 1798 was living in Nashville, TN in 1851.
Widow Nancy GLASSCO WILLIAMS md. Joseph MCMINN, Esq. in August of 1816. Nancy MCMINN died 27 Jun 1857. Joseph died 17 Nov 1824. Joseph had served as Governor of Tennessee from 1815 to 1821.
