I am searching for any information on my Black maternal grandfather's family. His name was Walter James Glasper (5/20/1910 - 4/1983). He married Mamie Ruth Dixon in 1932 and they had twelve children.
His mother was Irrinier (pronounced Irene)Cromartie. Her husband was Sir Walter Raliegh Glasper (Gelaspy, Glaspie). I believe her father was Owen Cromartie from the West Indies and her mother was Amelia. Irrinier and Sir Walter had Walter James (my grandfather), Robert, Hattie Mae, Shade, Roscoe, Clara Lee, Niomi, Lena, Edward, and David (aka Shoe). My am not sure when she was born. I have had her first name as "Arrirrner" and last name as "Crumedy" "Crumpity" "Carmody" and on my grandfather's Social Security Application as "Joseph Ineraer Crumington". (My grandfather couldn't write so someone else filled out the form.)
Sir Walter's parents were Sara (don't know last name) and Richard Farrior (but the older family tree has his father as Jesse Glasper). I am sure they were from the Duplin and Bladen County areas.
