Found some more info in a book on biographical sketches
If I am repeating pleas excuse me thats what happens when
you get older
Mathias Glaser Jr , a gardener of Dayton Ohio. is of German
descent. His father Mathias Sr having been born in 1808 in Prussia , and his mother Magdalena (Helen, Lena) Weber
born in 1810 same town . (I think I gave you the town
and area) In 1844 (actually 1843) them emigrated to America
stopping first in Buffalo NY for several years and then toDayton Oh In 1864 Mathias left home and worked elsewhere
and in 1865 he enlisted in the 71st Volunteer Infantry, later transferredto the 58th Ohio Veterans for 6 months.
in 1870 he married Mary T Schneider with whom he had 4 children. They are devout members of Emmanuel Catholic
Church in Dayton
