Robeson County Wills, Vol. II, by Dr Morris Britt, page 14 lists the abstract of the will of James Smith. The will, p. 67 - 68 was dated 22 Sept 1854 and probated Nov. Term, 1855, Oath of Benjamin Freeman and John W. Branch. Sdh. Howell, Clk.

John Smith - slave man Moses and $l00.00
Sally Baker - slave woman "Rachael and her three children
Orra Mercer slave woman Susan and her six children
William Smith - slave man Simon
Alfred Smith - slave man George

Anna Howell - woman Eliza
Jemima Walters - woman Aggy and her two children
