These Old Parish Records show many variations of the spellings of the name. E.G. The family of Walter Gledstones who married Jeanette Palmer on11/Aug/1645 at Kelso in Scotland have their family christenings each recorded with differing spellings - Gledstanes, Gladstanes, Gladstains, Gledstounes, Gledstoun, Gladstone.
These Old Parish Records show many variations of the spellings of the name. E.G. Let me add another, that of William Henry Gladstone (1840-91), the eldest son of Rt. Hon William Ewart Gladstone.
