The Gladneys of Newfoundland, Canada originated from County Carlow Ireland. The emmigrated in 1799. From Newfoundland they spread throughout the north and eastern U.S.. Cities include, Boston,San Francisco, Minneapolis, Washington D.C., New York, and Detroit. Many Gladneys still live in County Carlow, just north of New Ross.
