I found this document on ebay and have transcribed it for the Gladden and Weer family forums in hopes it will be of use to someone.I also have an electronic copy of the document.The item was posted on ebay for sale the first week of June 2004.It is not My item nor am I selling it but I thought the information may be of use to researchers like myself.

Know all men by these presents that I Robert Weer of the county of Lincoln and State of North Carolina
Hath bargained sold and released unto Joseph Weer of the County of Lincoln and State aforementioned a certain Negro Boy named Adam about three years old for the sum of two hundred dollars to me paid by the said Joseph Weer ,and I the said Robert Weer do by these presents warrant and
defend the said negro boy Adam unto the only use of the said Joseph Weer his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claim of all persons whatsoever And I the said Robert Weer do warrant and defend In witness weherof I have hereunto set my hand and seal March 6th 1809.
