Can anyone add to this family of my Great Uncle Dick Givens' family. I am particularly interested in what happened to the children from the first marriage to Marie Dobbs.
My Uncle Dick Givens aka "Willy" was first married to Marie DOBBS. There were 3 sons born to this union; Richard Dale GIVENS, Robert Lee (Bob) GIVENS and Roy Cecil GIVENS. All born in Payne county, OK. Roy and Richard I believe both served in the Navy. Bob married Lucille Byrd and had daughter named Hazel. Lived Ontario, California.
After Uncle Dick's first wife, Marie DOBBS, died (1927) in Payne county, Oklahoma he married 2nd to Ina D. GOFORTH. There were 3 more sons born with this union; William (Billy) Lewis GIVENS, James (Jimmie) Floyd GIVENS and Johnny B. GIVENS.
More data on these last three sons of Dick and Ina's.
William (Billy) Lewis GIVENS was born 16 Feb 1931 Cushing Oklahoma. Died 18 June 1970 (age 39) around Tulsa I believe while living at his brother, Johnny's home. He is buried in Bethel cemetery in Glencoe, Oklahoma, Payne county. Billy was injured in an accident in Sacramento California when he was younger which left him paralized from the waist down. He did have one known son living in Fallon Nevada at time of his death.
James (Jimmie) Floyd GIVENS was born 23 Jan 1933 Payne County Oklahoma, Died 14 Oct 1967 (age 34) San Bernardino, San Bernardino county, Ca. Buried at Bellevue Cemetery in Ontario, California. Jimmie was living in Ontario when he suffered a brain hemorage. He died not long afterwards at the county hospital.
Johnny B. GIVENS lived Tulsa Oklahoma. Had a wife and son. Johnny and wife are deceased now.
Ina GOFORTH GIVENS used to live in Ontario California in late 1950's. She had been seperated from Uncle Dick. I heard she moved up around Sacramento California area and may have remarried. That was a long long time ago. I think she was deceased before the death of her son Jimmie in 1969 as I don't remember her being at the funeral. I do remember uncle Dick coming in from Tuscon Arizona to be there. My mother, Jeanne GIVENS HUMPHREY took care of the funeral of Jimmie. She was Jimmie's cousin.
