Ted,
Do you have the(maiden) name of Rev. Givens' wife? Also, the Rev.'s date of death?
Have just discovered that my ancestor Daniel McHenry (1817 - 1885) lived with Rev. Saltern Givens from late 1830s to approx 1842.Also Daniel's mortgage of 80 pounds on his land purchase of 200 acres in 1842 was granted by Rev. Givens.I believe Saltern is likely the "prominent clergyman" my ancestor was said to have spoken so highly of, and who was somehow related to him.I had always looked for a clergyman with the surname McHenry, to no avail. Can you supply more details about the family?I do know that James Givins was Saltern's father and his mother Angelique or Angelica.
Did the family come from County Antrim??Do you know the name of the Townland?
