Gist Plantation Union County South Carolina
Posted by: Grant Perryman (ID *****5361) Date: April 11, 2012 at 21:15:17

Has anybody researched the slaves held by the Gist Plantation in Union County, South Carolina? I am wondering if there are any slave records which might document the lives of the slaves.

My maternal line is from South Carolina mainly from Union and Spartanburg counties. My great grandmother was Narcissus Gist (maiden name). Her mother was simply known as Janie and was a slave. Narcissus married William Walker.

Thanks
