howdy --

Hate to say this, but there was no such person as "White Rose" -- that simply is NOT a Shawnee name. I doubt the Shawnee of that era had any idea what a rose was. There was no such person as "Wurteh Watts". That name was totally made up. Sequoyah's mother was "probably" named Wu-te-he -- no Cherokee name ends in a consenant sound. Read the Cherokee website and look for the references to Sequoyah's syllabry -- they had a little about Sequoyah there.

I emailed those two authors, and they admitted doing a lot of "guessing".

The worse thing about this type of book is that there ARE people who might have mixed race heritage, yet they will give up looking for it because they think the auhtors of that book have "found the answer" but they haven't.

I asked them for the "citations" from their book and they admitted they are not listed in the book. When a friend asked for the citations they received a list that are NOT propper citatoins, nothing they could look up for themselves -- nothing at all.

In any research, be wary of any claimns that can not be backed up by REAL historical records.
