Hi all,
First, I want to apologize for my extreme ignorance about the Gist family lines. I have read many of the posts here and I know I need to, somehow, get my hands on the Dorsey book. But, until then I'm hoping some of you might be able to help me. I grew up hearing stories of Christopher Gist (1706-1759) scout to G.W.
My great-grandmother's name was Vonna Dell Gist (b. 1886 in IL. died Jan 1950 in Wichita, KS).
I am trying to find the line between the above mentioned Christopher Gist and her. The only other info I have gotten from my Grandfather (William Gist Ray born 1923 in Sterling KS) is that Vonna had 4 sisters, one named Ada, and a brother named Ray Gist. Can anyone help? Has anyone come across Vonna Dell Gist...is it a true relation to Christopher? Unfortunately, my grandpa does not remember his grandparents (Vonna's parents) :(
He's 85 and I would love to figure this out before it's too late.
