"I know Tom Girty. His fathers people were old settlers. His mother was an emmigrant. Her maiden name was Nancy Starr. She was daughter of James Starr. I do not know when James Starr died. I never saw him. Nancy Starr had a brother by the name of Tom Starr. His wifes name was Caty. See Can. #88. She had a brother William that was older than her, and she had a sister Mary. See Can. #89. She had a sister POolly Starr, Rachel Starr and a brother James Starr. Se Can. #91, 93 & 94. They all lived in Can. District."

My mother's name was Ga-ha-gust; she was a sister of Wilson Girty; I do not know what relation she was to Buck Girty but think he was her brother; my mother's father was named John but I do not remember the rest of it; my mother's father always said that his father was a white man; I do not know who my father's mother was but think she must have been a Cherokee."

"My name is Daniel Girty; my post-office Webbers falls,Okla.; I am about forty years old; my father's name was Snake Girty; I have heard Wilson Girty is a kinsfolk of mine - he is still living; I have also heard that Jack Girty is a kinsfolk of mine; I have always heard my father say that his father was an Irishman; Ka-ha-gust was my mother; I do not know who her mother was but I think her name was Je-naw-sa; I am enrolled by the dawes Commission; my mother was born in Candian [sic] District; my mother died eight or nine years ago; she was about fifty-seven years old when she died; I do not know who my mother's father was; I never heard my mother say who her father was; I did not know at the time that I made out my application who my mother's mother was but I have found out since who she was; I think that my mother's mother was born in Canadian District; my mother was about fifty-seven when she died; Wilson Girty was my mother's brother; my wife was a white woman."
