I have a Charles Girton, born 1875, Earlham, Madison, IA, son of William Harrison and Mahala (Mowrey) Girton. William and Mahala were born in Ohio and married in Ohio. They resided in Umatilla County, OR, at the time of their deaths. I have no other info on Charles.

What do you know of the different spellings? I have found records of some related persons with variations in spelling. Are Girton, Gerton, Girten etc. all branches of the same family?
