I have not checked this forum for the Girtman name in some time. The original spelling of the surname is Gartman and the change occurred when one branch moved to Georgia. Anyone with the spelling Girtman can assume that they come from the Georgia stock.
My wife is the Girtman and I have a lot of information posted on my web page. I have not learned how to include a link to the web page so I will just spell the entire thing. Be sure to use upper and lower case exactly as I have it. If you have any trouble please let me know and i will email you the link. I hope the information is of help to you.
