Pierre Celestin Giroux and Marie Charlotte Spenard were married on 28 Aug, 1826 on Drummond Island, MI - this is the Catholic Church Marriage Record.

Since there were no priests on Drummond Island from 1804 to 1821, there were no Catholic marriages. Samuel Abbott, Justice of the Peace, performed many Civil marriages, from 1808 to 1821, on Michilimakinak and on Drummond Island. My research has uncovered a number of these Civil marriage records and some of the marriages, performed as early as 1808, were not validated by the Catholic Church until 1821. The Catholic Church records are the ones most often found.

Likely, there is a Civil marriage record, dated about 1813/1814, for Pierre Celestin Giroux and Marie Charlotte Spenard in the Notary Records of Samuel Abbott in the Burton Historical Collection in Detroit, MI.

I am very interested in the information you found for Pierre Giroux and would like to get in touch with you off-line. What is your email address? I have some info that might be useful to you for some of your other searches.
