Dear Valerie,

Theodule is my Great Great Grandfather. He came from the very same village in France as your ancestor. He was mayor of Sandwich for a number of years as was his son, Ernest Girardot.

The restaurant in Sandwich you refer to is called Maison Girardot, I believe. I was told in my earlier years that we were related to the family.

It is almost certain that your ancestor and Theodule were related. However, my copy of the family tree does not show your ancestor. There is reference to a Hippolite born in 1831 as the son of Jacques Girardot. He was a cousin of Theodule (born in 1824).

However, my information is probably imperfect. Yes, I would be happy to share info. If you have Family Tree maker, I could send you a readable file.
