bonjour Nancy:

I have found only one Edouard Girard, using the digitized record version of the Quebec parishes, born in 1832:
Edouard Girard, born 12th bapt. on 13th March 1832 in Montréal.

He was the son of Gabriel (does not sound like William or Guillaume) Girard and Pauline (Appoline) Desjardins. The latter couple were married in MOntreal (N-D) on 12 May 1817.

I have searched for the children of this couple married in Quebec and I have found girls (3 of them); no son. I should try to find out if their son Edouard died before getting married. If he did not die in Quebec, it is likely that he emigrated.

There was another Edouard Girard in Laprairie Co., south of Montreal but he was born in 1835.

Jean-Marie
