I am completely stumped. And need all kinds of help.
I have this "Arch Gipson" b:1855ish TN, who is part of my direct tree. He married Lucinda Abner b:1864 KY... I tend to think they married in Arkansas around 1880.
I have based his birth on the info from the 1900 Census.
I am beginning to wonder if "Arch" may have been a nick name.. hence why I can't find him prior to his marriage to Lucinda.
Of course I have tried the numerous spellings: Archie, Archabald, Archibald... etc... and can not find anything that looks like he is my man.
So I am now looking for anyone who might have an idea who this "Arch Gipson" might be. Without the help of a 1890 census... I can't even be forsure how many children they had. I have them on the 1880 Census without kids, the on the 1900 census with 4. The 1900 census states that there had been 10 children born... with only 7 living. Have I mention I am lost?
My link is his daughter named "Minnie Rocelia Gipson" who was born at Van Buren Arkansas. She married Mose C. Mason. Then Minnie and Mose moved to Oklahoma.
Any insight you might have for this family would be greatly appreciated.
