Hi Antoine,
In the theory that you don't know what happened out there as far as names changes go, I am trying yours!
My present name is Ginnett, though it wasn't my fathers, my mom had it changed from Genest.Quite frankly, taht may not be the correct spelling either. But do you have any information on my dad's fathers (Antoine)side?
Dad’s Side
Mother:Jane/Jennie Doucette-Date of birth______ 18 at time of marriage on September11,1895- Birthplace Gigsrish, PEI-Her father listed as Barbe (Deceased at the time of her marriage)No other information.Birthplace PEI.Her mother listed as Mary Paraigne-Birthplace PEI, Residence at time of Jennie’s marriage listed as Brewer, Maine.Jane married in Bangor, Maine.
Father:Antoine Genest (name listed on marriage certificate) 22 at time of marriage.Birthplace listed as New Brunswick, possibly Caraquet. His Father listed on marriage license as Acabit, birthplace New Brunswick.Mother listed as Jane, birthplace New Brunswick.Antoine may have had a brother named Philip who married Vitaline Labouthillier, both residences listed as New Brunswick. Children born in Maine to Philip and Vitaline listed as Flossy Jennett 2-7-1898 and Mamy 1-13-1900 (listed under J in the archives)
Thanks,
Jack
