Ginn Family Genealogy Forum

While researching the Ginns from Georgia, I came across several reports centering around "Captain" John I. Ginn and his well-recorded journey through the Utah Territory during the Utah War and the Mountain Meadows Massacre. Ginn's eye-witness reports are considered excellent windows to the history of that region during this dangerous and bloody time in America's development as an expanding nation.
Ginn is listed in the reference material as being the son of Sherwood H. and Mary Ingaham Ginn. He was raised in Acworth (Cobb Co.),Georgia before he moved West as a young man in the late 1850's.
I know that a Sherwood H. Ginn was the son of Jesse Ginn in Elbert Co., Ga., but his wife is listed as Susannah. The timeline for this Elbert Co. Sherwood H. Ginn does match up with possibly having John I. Ginn as a son. Anybody have any additional clues or answers for John I. Ginn's family history?
