Her parents were named François Gingras and Sophronie Meranger. It is said that her name has changed on some of her children marriage acts. Her first name is sometimes Sophie while her surname could also be Melligan, Méranger, Merangère, Milliquette, Miljours, De La Pêche (sic), Millejour, Marquette, Valiquette.

François And Sophronie had several children :

Jean-Baptiste (wife Marie Martineau, Masham)
François Jr (wife Elisa Lescadre, Masham)
Joseph (wife Marguerite Goyer-Belisle, Masham)
Marie (husband Stanislas Godmer, Masham)
Marguerite (husband Joseph Konisbery, Gracefield)
Adélaïde (husband François-Olivier Garneau, Gracefield)

This line is starting with Étienne Gingras and Madelaine Amiot.
