Statia Kindelsperger, Maryland 1725-1760
My ancestor William Harvey of the Bennetts Creek area that became Montgomery County, Maryland in 1776, married Statia.
Some internet sources quoting the LDS International Genealogical Index (IGI) state that Statia was actually Statia Kindelsperger, born in England in 1725 and died in Maryland in or before 1760.
It is curious that someone named Kindelsperger would be born in England.
Does anyone know anything about Statia Kindelsperger, how she might relate to the broader Gindlesperger family if at all, and what other documentation there may be of her life?
German - English marriages were not uncommon in the next couple of generations, but this (marriage about 1745) seems a bit early. The Germans generally came into Philadelphia; how would a teenaged girl find her way south to Montgomery County unless her family was there.Or conversely, could William Harvey have gone to Pennsylvania on business and brought back a bride?Speculation can run wild when there are so few facts, and even the facts are uncertain.
