Ginder in The Netherlands since about 1800
Hi,
This is my first posting in this forum. I live in The Netherlands, Europe. The family Ginder is in my country a small family. All are related.
Around 1800 a Prusian soldier came to Scheveningen (a village near to The Hague) and made a girl pregnant. His surname was Ginder, so the child got his name. It is not clear or they married or not.
Later on that century members of the family couldn't write and a part went on named Ginter (yes with a 't'). That is family too.
Nowadays a search in the Dutch telephone guide results in 13 (thirteen) hits.
In Germany the same search gives about 120 hits. The name Ginder originally is German.
Regards,
Jaap Ginder
