Reba D. Gilstrap
Oct. 10, 1912 — March 2, 2005
Sonora resident Reba D. Gilstrap died Wednesday at a Sonora care home. She was 92.
She was born in Duncan, Okla. She had lived in Newman, Stanislaus County, from 1946 to 1985. She later lived in Modesto and most recently lived in Sonora for five years. She was a homemaker for 72 years.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church and Santa Rita Rebekah Lodge, both in Newman.
Her family said she loved cooking, sewing and gardening.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Joyce and Joe Costa of Twain Harte and Sue Davis of Pahrump, Nev.; brothers, Herbert Johnson of Turlock and Leo Johnson of Ballico, Merced County; sisters, Doris Johnson and Ruby Ranuio, both of Stockton, and Johnnie Mae Reed of Turlock; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Gilstrap, in 1984; and a daughter, Laverne Landeros in 1996.
