I am the great-great-great granddaughter of Daniel (b abt 1791, MA) and Martha (Norton) Gilson. My records show they were md 1815 in Mendon, Monroe, New York. They had 4 sons and one daughter named Martha not Olive, probably born after 1815. Could your Olive be a daughter of one of Daniel's brothers? Daniel's father and mother were Daniel and Olive (Erwin) Gilson. Brothers were Isaac b abt 1791, John b 1796, Eli b 1803 and Willard b 1811. I think Daniel #2, Isaac and Willard moved to Ohio with their Revolutonary War father Daniel #1 and his wife Olive, and she died soon after. He then married a widow named Rachel White. I have personally been to Fairview Cemetery, Mesopotamia, OH, and visited Daniel #1 and Olive's graves. Understand that Daniel #2 and Martha (Norton) Gilson are buried in Brighton, Lorain, OH.
