John Joseph Gelshenen VI looking for John I, II
I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (WI), USA.On or about 1909 my Grandfather, John Joseph Gelshenen IV was born in New York. After WWII, he married Nancy Ann Doyle. They had 5 children: John V WI (my father), Nancy NJ, Rosemary FL, Colleen WI, and Terri VA. My birth certificate indicates that I am the "VI" but I can only trace this back to my Great Grandfather, John III.He was born in Ireland and came to the US around, I am guessing, 1880.I was told by an aunt that a John Gelshenen, maybe the I or II, married a Robinson in Ireland.I am trying to tack down the who, what, where, why, etc., of John the II or John I.Can you help solve this family mystery? Other Family Names include McEvoy.Any information would be helpful. As you all know, the family generally traces its roots to meath or west meath. The last name spelling may have changed when coming to the US.Thank you.
