Nancy,

Last night while putting the list together of Peter & Sarah's children, I realized that of their ten children seven have names that appear to be from the Gilpin family, viz, Joseph, Ruth, Lydia, Hannah, Samuel, Ann & George. The twins are obviously named for Peter & Sarah, which leaves one name not connected to the Gilpins, Jesse.

I wonder if Jesse is a name from Peter's family in England? The only name I've seen connected to Peter in England is John Cooke, who signed Peter & Elinor's marriage certificate.

I'm going to look into this possibility, any thoughts about this?
